Pakistan China friendship
CHINA A FRIEND OF PAKISTAN AND NOT A NEO-CLONIAL STATE.
Pak-China friendship started soon after the independence when Pakistan felt the urge of having a strong friend by its side to stand with her in her critical situations and to help her to overcome the fear of the Indian attack.Rippa July 17, 2014,Tharoor Many evidences are in the favor of the friendship of these two countries. In 1955 a conference was held between the states The “BANDUNG CONFERENCE OF 1955” also shows a healthy and friendly relation between the two countries as China made it clear that they won’t let SAETO Pact become hurdle in the way of friendship between two countries.(Sayeed, Mar 1964). Moreover many positive steps been taken to keep this friendship long term e.g. (China President visit to Pakistan in 2015 and the Sea port project from China to Pakistan in Gawadar Port.)(Ikhlaq, April 2015) The image of friendship between the countries gets clearer when one hears the views from the people of both the states as they are in favor of having friendly relations of both the countries. It is evident that Pakistan and China are close friends of each other and truly ally of each other. China not only calls Pakistan its ally but prove it by having good Political relation with Pakistan. But also foster it by showing it to the world.
China and Pakistan friendship base is their good political relations between each other. Pakistan due to the fear of India wanted to have a strong friend despite of the fact that China at that time was not a strong state still Pakistan was making closer ties with the People republic of China so that it should have a strong friend in its neighbor countries.(Paracha, July 2013) China wanted to improve its picture in world politics and for that they were building good relation with Pakistan so that a China should convey a positive message to world and so their negative picture should be faded in the arena of the huge world.(Nawaz, May 2011) Pakistan wanted to have a reliable friend in the region which can stand side by side against the fear of India.(Paracha, July 2013) That came true also when Kashmir dispute was a fresh debate ongoing between India and Pakistan and China supported Pakistan by recognizing Kashmir as a part of Pakistan (Sayeed, Mar 1964). China always tried to make Pakistan self-dependent rather than expecting others to help them and to make them rely on some other states for their own means. China till date is a good and reliable friend of Pakistan and has shown some strong steps taken in this line by installing arms complex in Pakistan and making Pakistan independent in terms of its mechanical and arms complex.
China helped Pakistan to make it independent in real words so that it should not ask for help from someone. China installed heavy mechanical complex in Pakistan. The Heavy Forge Factory (HFF) at this complex has proved crucial for Pakistan's defense production needs. (Kareem, September 2001) Pakistan was having existential fear that time because of India so they were spending much part of economy on its defense which was one of the causes why Pakistan was not flourishing and was making itself dependent on the USA for its arms. (Khan, Novemeber 2003) Pakistan at that time needed to get strong so that it can also be counted in the list of powerful states and so the fear of the Indian to get Pakistan disintegrate should come to an end. Chinese as a true friend wanted that Pakistan despite of always being dependent on USA for its military needs it should have its own Mechanical complex so that it should prepare its own and to manufacture arms to overcome its shortage of arms. China therefore was proving to make Pakistan stabilize so they should have good economy and their military should be strong enough to defend their self against the fear of India. (Paracha, July 2013) China was constructing a frame of friendship to benefit themselves as well as Pakistan. The Chinese were not only limited to arms they also helped Pakistan to have good economy by giving them foreign investors.
China to make Pakistan economy somehow better and to help them financially they are starting sea pack in Gawadar. They also installed telecommunication giant company like Zong and gave Pakistan a foreign investment to help them in making their economy stabilize and to make them independent and self-reliant. (Khan, November 2013) The sea pack will help Pakistan as well as China to build closer ties between them. Pakistan always have tried to keep its relations strong with the People Republic of China so the funding and investment from China into Pakistan should not be disturbed and so that the two states be counted in the list of friendly states. Pakistan wanted to show the world the positive image when China was losing its image in the sight of the world and so they built close friendship relations by taking advantage of the ongoing circumstances. (Anderson, August 2002) Pakistan also has taken aids from China to make their economy stable and to not shackle it. China wanted a state which can help her in making it clearly visible state in the world arena.
From the research it is evident that Pakistan and China are strong ally of each other and they are proving their friendship and are trying to convey a strong message of friendship to the whole world. China has never any thought of being a neo-colonial state in case of Pakistan but it was only helping Pakistan to make it self-dependent and to take it out of the circumstances going at that time.
